Sutherland Hospital School was established in 1965 and has provided educational support to the children on the Child and Adolescent Ward for 60 years.
Over the years, the school has developed additional programs to support students in the wider community.
One of these programs is the Hospital School Orientation Tour, which was first established in 1990 and later evolved into the e-Tour in 2021.
Sutherland Hospital School also offers a Supporting Transition to School program and in 2023 a satellite class was established at Miranda Public School to support adolescents re-engaging with school after a period of sustained absence.
